Tales of the Waikanae Estuary
By Michael (Mik) Peryer
Having retired to the beach beside the Waikanae estuary, builder Mik Peryer has found he enjoys introducing visitors to the birds in his “backyard”.The estuary is host to over sixty species, including godwits that migrate to and from Siberia.
Mik’s guided walks have led to talks with hundreds of interested people and groups, from Wellington, Hutt Valley to Waipukarau and to the production of a popular booklet and now this richly illustrated, informative and entertaining book.
We have some pieces from Mik’s magical book for you to taste.
